1945 Dime

The 1945 dime value is at a minimum of $2.16 - moving with the price of silver it contains. However Mercury dimes are avidly collected and there is always the potential of higher value. Condition has the biggest effect on value. Most of these old silver dimes, because they have circulated and become worn, are worth this minimum price. 1945 was the last year of the Mercury dime series and is notable not just for that fact but also because that was the year that a fairly popular mintmark variety was created in the 1945-S micro-S dime. Mercury dimes are also known as Winged Liberty Head dimes. The US minted the 1945 dime with no mint mark and also the 1945 D dime and 1945 S dime. The mint mark, when present, can be found on the reverse side of the coin. This coin is 90% silver. These coins were minted at 3 locations, but the (p) Philadelphia mint issued some 62% of all dimes this year making these the most abundant.
